Teaching TEKS and STAAR Successfully. Our Mission:

STAAR, the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness is a new assessment replacing TAKS. It is to be implemented in the fall of 2011. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has chosen specific TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) to be assessed for Grades 3-8 in reading (grades3-8), writing (grade 4) mathematics(grades 3-8), science (grade 5), and social studies (grade 8). The format is to put them in Reporting Categories with the objectives identified as a Readiness or Supporting Standard. For the high school grades (9-12), End of Course testing is to be introduced. There will be 12 courses to be tested

To make this information more understandable, we have created Student Profiles that have all of the TEA identified TEKS to be assessed on the STAAR Exams. These are presented without any edits. The profiles are being used to track student progress as well as help teachers in planning and documenting instruction. You can click on Educator Solutions to see samples. These are printed on 67 lb. hard stock paper. Please take the time to look at these profiles. They replace 6-8 pages that TEA uses in reporting them.
